WORLD WIDE TRANSMISSION

If you are unable to visit a retreat with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche in person so far in order to receive a direct transmission of Dzogchen knowledge from him (i.e. the transmission of Guru Yoga), then you can receive the transmission during the Worldwide Practice of Guru Yoga on one of three special days by webcast

These days are the anniversaries of the Great Dzogchen Teachers: Garab Dorje (February – beginning of March), Guru Padmasambhava (July – beginning of August) and Adzom Drugpa, the previous incarnation of Namkai Norbu Rinpoche (end of November).

On those days the whole Worldwide Dzogchen Community at the same time practices Guru-Yoga, simultaneously with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche. Open webcast provides the complete synchrony of actions of the Master and students which allows the Master to introduce a student in the state of knowledge during the practice which doesn’t depend on a distance. Thus, the student receives a possibility to join the lineage of transmission wherever he/she is.

After the Guru Yoga practice, Rinpoche also gives lung (oral transmission) for the few main practices of Dzogchen Community, so the novices would have a chance to practice and would not wait until the possibility to attend a retreat.

It is important to understand that in order to receive such transmission, simple presence at the practice is not enough – one needs to follow the practice consciously. Experienced practitioners of Dzogchen Community necessarily instruct those novices who are interested in receiving the transmission from Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and explain the meaning of Guru Yoga and details of the upcoming practice (breathing, text, melodies, visualization and mudras).

WEBCASTS OF RETREATS WITH NAMKHAI NORBU RINPOCHE

Besides those special days, the transmission from Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche is also available during the webcasts of retreats when Rinpoche gives Dzogchen Teaching in one place or another.

The webcasts of retreats with Rinpoche provide the unique opportunity not only to receive the direct introduction into the nature of mind from the Master but also oral instructions and lungs for various secondary practices which can be useful and effective in different circumstances.

Webcasts of teachings can be open and closed. There are no any limitations to access the open webcasts – any person interested in Dzogchen Teaching may listen to such webcast without any hindrances. Usually, the open webcasts give the general idea of the main principles and aspects of Dzogchen Teaching. While access to the closed webcasts (when the Teachings are given on a deeper level) is provided only to Dzogchen Community members. See the detailed information of the order of access to the open and closed webcasts on the website of Merigar-East.

At Kunpenling we have created all conditions to receive webcast of retreats and practices with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche – including the roomy hall, excellent equipment and huge screen to receive the video stream. Besides, the villatic atmosphere of a retreat center and surrounding of other practitioners is obviously much more beneficial for perceiving the Teaching than the urban fluster which you would inevitably plunge in between the sessions.

Usually, the webcast is one 2-hour session a day; therefore, Kunpenling additionally organizes some courses with Dzogchen Community instructors or collective retreats on practices for the period of webcasts in order to make the time spent at Kunpenling as beneficial as possible.
